Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya, has spoken on preparations around Nipah outbreak in Kerala. While he said that several cases have so far been detected, the state and central governments are prepared to deal with the situation.

“Central government has sent a team. Biosafety level 3 (BSL-3) lab has been also sent there. The BSL-3 lab is arranged inside a bus…expert team is present there (Kerala) and is prepared to deal with any kind of situation…”, he added.
Meanwhile, the Kerala government on Sunday said that there were no fresh Nipah positive cases with test results of 42 samples, of persons in the high risk contact list, coming out negative. But still the monitoring and vigilance has to be kept up for 42 days since the last positive case, as per guidelines.
