Police is investigating the murder of a 30-year-old amid allegations that he may have been targeted for his patriotic sloganeering while he watched Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2 on his mobile phone.
The kin of the murdered youth as well as a BJP leader Raju Shrivastav have staged dharna before the Khursipar police station to press for the arrest of the accused in the case.
As per allegations, the youth along with friend was watching blockbuster movie Gadar 2 on his mobile phone in the ITI ground on Friday night. He got carried away watching this patriotic movie and raised slogans of ‘Hindustan Zindabad’.
It is alleged that this provoked certain other youngsters to thrash him while keeping his friend on his knees with knife to his throat. The thrashing was so bad that despite the victim rushed to Sri Ramkrishna Care hospital, he could not be saved.
After his death, the agitated family of the victim accompanied by BJP leader staged gherao of the Khursipar police station and demanded strict police action.
Police has assured to ascertain allegations and catch the culprits.
