Things are often cordial when two leaders when they meet in person, even if they belong to rival parties and it is election season peaking. But Chhattisgarh Minister TS Singhdeo’s gesture and some of the statements that he made in the presence of PM Modi was noticed by many political analysts.
In his address during a govt programme, Singhdeo admitted that he never felt any biasedness from the central government. Whats even more important is that PM Modi responded with folded hands to this appreciation from a rival political leader.
That Chhattisgarh’s Deputy CM TS Singhdeo denied any discrimination speaks volumes in that it punctures the allegation of Congress ruled states that centre is not being forthcoming when it comes to bestowing of resources.
Goes without saying that BJP would use this statement in the coming electoral season against Congress party and its leaders. Senior BJP leader Brijmohan Agrawal mounted sharpest attack yet on the Congress ruled Chhattisgarh government saying that ‘some of the coloured jackals have been acting as lion but the rain has washed away their colour and revealed their true identity’.
