Soldier arrested for passing on sensitive intel, heres what police shared about probe revelations

In Punjab, the Patiala police have gone ahead and arrested a soldier for allegedly supplying sensitive information of Indian Army to a drug smuggler.

Varun Sharma, the SSP Patiala, said, “We arrested a drug smuggler named Amrik and sensitive information of the Indian Army was recovered from his phone. During interrogation, he said that he got this information from a soldier named Manpreet Sharma. Our team arrested him from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. He admitted that he had given this information to Amrik… Preliminary investigation has revealed that (the information) was shared with Pakistan…”.

It is learnt that the arrested soldier, during interrogation, revealed having passed on secret info to Pakistan multiple times in the past. Police suspects that there may be more people involved in the nexus which needs to be unravelled.
