After a social media outrage over the Indian national got hit and killed by police car in United States of America and a police officer later joking about it on cam, India has now demanded an impartial probe.
The Indian student, Jaahnavi Kandula, was run over by a police car while she crossed a street in Seattle, the police officer is heard on cam joking and laughing about her death. Now that the video has gone viral, the Consulate General of India located in San Francisco has demanded an elaborate probe and termed the incident as ”deeply troubling”.
The video clip, now going viral online, shows officer Daniel Auderer laughing as he talked about the death of 23-year-old student of Northeastern University.
Kandula was run over by a patrol car that was being driven by another cop, Kevin Dave. It emerged that the car was at the speed of around 74 kms per hour and struck the student who got thrown about 100 feet after collision.
Auderer was called on to the scene to evaluate the circumstances behind the accident and then he makes a call to the colleague where he jokes about the mishap saying ‘she had limited value anyway’ and that the city ‘should write a check’.
