In a heartening development during the second special summary revision of electoral rolls, Shri Shersingh Hidko, a 93-year-old from Bhainsakanhar (K) falling under the Bhanupratappur Assembly Constituency of North Bastar Kanker district, got his name registered in the voter list for the first time. Shri Shersingh Hidko stated that during a door-to-door survey conducted by B.L.O. Shri Rajendra Kosma, it was discovered that he had used his voting rights in any legislative assembly or general elections till now.

Shri Hidko received valuable information about the importance of voting from the BLO and was motivated to have his name registered in the voter list. He provided necessary documents including his Aadhaar card and a photograph, leading to the inclusion of his name in the voter list for the very first time. Furthermore, he was encouraged to actively participate in the upcoming legislative assembly elections scheduled for this year.
Expressing his immense joy and satisfaction after becoming a registered voter, Shri Shersingh Hidko affirmed his commitment to exercising his right to vote in the forthcoming legislative assembly elections.
It is worth mentioning that under the guidance of Collector Dr Priyanka Shukla, a voter awareness campaign is underway in the district, encouraging all eligible individuals to ensure their inclusion in the voter list and providing instructions for the removal of names of deceased and permanently relocated individuals from the voter list.
