A small coastal town in Portugal has become the talking point on internet after viral videos showed red wine spilling through its streets. The spill, although accidental, was so massive that the local authorities had to trigger an environmental alert.
The incident is of city of Levira where people were in for a shock when 2.2 million liters of red wine came roaring down their streets on Sunday. The liquid originated from the Levira Distillery, also located in the Anadia region, where it had been resting in wine tanks awaiting bottling.
It took efforts from firefighters to divert the flow of red wine from river and farm fields to elsewhere. While the cause of this massive red win flow is yet to be ascertained, it is said that two tanks burst causing this flooding that went viral online.
