Suspense continues over the departure of Canadian premiere Justin Trudeau from India to home country. On PM Trudeau’s departure from India, the Canadian PMO has said that “latest update shows an earliest possible departure of Tuesday late afternoon. The situation remains fluid”.
So Canadian premiere visited Delhi early Saturday to be part of the G 20 summit meeting and was to leave by Sunday evening but as fate would have it, the airplane developed some technical snag, not the first time as per many sources thus keeping Trudeau stuck in India.
The situation is unprecedented in so many ways as the Canadian Air Force, responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Prime Minister’s airplane has so far not been able to fix the technical issue.
The relations between India and Canada under Trudeau have hit a new low as the Indian government’s repeated pleas to ensure protection for its diplomatic personnel from Khalistani elements has fallen on deaf ears. Terming the Khalistani protests and threats as ‘freedom of expression’, Trudeau has been signaling that his government is far too much dependent on loyal support from Khalistanis and is ready to risk warm relations with India.
