Private schools in Chhattisgarh have announced to remain shut as part of protest demanding release of the Rs 250 crores pending amount from the state school education department.
The private school owners have argued that the amount they are claiming is under the Right to Education scheme in which they are helping the eligible students to study in their school and in return the government needs to pay them.
But the school owners have now put forth eight demands which they want fulfilled or else they might resort to agitation on streets.
The private school owners want the money under the scheme raised, ensuring the timely payments as the amount for 2020-21 and 2021-2 is yet to be released.
With more than nine thousand schools running privately, it will be a huge embarrassment for the school education department if the schools shut for a day on Sept 14. But the private school owners have gone ahead to announce street protest against the department from Sept 21 if their genuine demands remain unfulfilled.
