During his Europe tour, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met and interacted with journalists in Belgium. When asked if Rahul Gandhi or India’s opposition supports the Indian government decision of substantial increasing oil supplies from Russia during Ukraine war, Rahul Gandhi said they do.
He explained that by and large the opposition party would also adopt policy on the similar lines as India has longstanding relations with Russia.
It need be mentioned that during his America tour as well, Rahul Gandhi had supported Modi government’s policy on Russia and Ukraine conflict.
India has been buying quite a large quantity of Russian oil since 2022 after Russia came under international sanctions and oil prices were soaring.
Though the West tried to discourage India from going on this path, now it more or less has come to terms with this reality.
