Hong Kong remains paralyzed due to heaviest downpour since year 1884. The flash floods caused severe disruption in the densely packed city.
While the torrential rain commenced on Thursday night, the government warned that the weather could continue all through noon of Friday.

Multiple pics and videos shared online shows residents wading through murky floodwaters and low lying areas got flooded to the extent that one may be excused to believe that there has been this water body.
Multiple parking lots often at the basement were seen flooded and in most cases, even the cars and other vehicles were not visible. The weather department said that more than 200 mm of rainfall was recorded on Hong Kong’s main island.

The torrential rain is thought to have been caused by typhoon Haikui.
