Sentimentally attached to all things associated with Chhatrapati Shivaji, the government of India is soon going to gift Maharashtra, the ‘tiger claws’ that was used by the widely revered Maratha King.

India has convinced the UK for the same the ancient artefact is expected to head home this year itself. The dagger shaped like tiger claws is known to have been used by Chhatrapati Shivaji to kill Afzal Khan, the then General of Bijapur Sultanate, in year 1659.

As per details given out in the media, the Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar is to visit London by the end of this month to claim the artefact. Wagh Nakh, literally translates to tiger like claws.
It is made of steel and has four claws placed on top of a bar with two rings placed for the first and fourth finger to hold.
