As the nation of India remains hooked onto the debate of India/Bharat, Samajwadi Party leader Sunil Kumar Yadav says, “BJP is misleading people…In 2004, when Mulayam Singh Yadav was the CM of UP, he passed a resolution in the State Assembly and sent it to Delhi to change the name to Bharat (from India)…But his idea of Bharat was of poor, farmers and unemployed people…You (Centre) can change the name but what has PM Modi done for the idea of Bharat of Mulayam Singh Yadav?…”

With this, Samajwadi Party could have shown support to the BJP led NDA government’s move of preferring Bharat over India when it comes to name of world’s largest democracy.

But what is also to be understood is that government of India remains tightlipped about the agenda of this special session that is set to start on Sept 18 till Sept 22. What has been conveyed via ‘sources’ is that the special session would commence on Sept 18 in old Parliament building and then move onto new Parliament building the next day on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

It need be mentioned that in the Hindu belief system, deity Ganesh is worshipped prior to commencement of anything new.
