Women in Chhattisgarh are enraged at the failure of law and order situation after two sisters were gangraped as they were returning after celebration of Rakshabandhan in Mandir Hasaud police station limits.
Chhattisgarh Mahila Samaj as well as women from a few other organizations took to road to agitate against the ghastly that is only going to force the women to take more precautionary approach and restrict their free movement.
What the women are outraged about is that the police could not prevent this crime knowing all too well that girls and women do move around in the cities and towns but also between them around Rakshabandhan time and still the gangrape happened.
It need be recalled that the two sisters were coming with the fiancee of one of them on a bike when some young men spotted them, intercepted them and while they thrashed the boy, they took the girls to nearby forested location to gangrape them.
The agitating women are now demanding strictest punishment for the accused and of the kind that deters others from even thinking of such a ghastly crime.
