Union Home Minister Amit Shah is in Raipur and has convened a meeting of the core committee at the party office, Kushabhau Thakre premises.
He is to release the chargesheet against the Congress government in Chhattisgarh today at an elaborate ceremony and this would set the tone of attack against the ruling regime in the state going into state poll. The saffron party is also to release second list of its candidates and the list might be presented before Amit Shah for final approval.
It need be mentioned that BJP has already released first list of 22 candidates but it has been made clear that 21 of the candidates are fighting tough contest on the seats that are considered weakest for the saffron party.
Amit Shah is also to take helicopter to Saraipali to grace the tribal convention there. Party sources informed that Amit Shah is calling the shots when it comes to most minute details of the BJP’s poll strategy in Chhattisgarh.
The BJP’s second list might also be announced after Amit Shah’s approval at a time when Congress has not been able to announce any of its candidate.
Meanwhile, Congress senior leader Rahul Gandhi is also visiting Raipur today and he will be addressing a gathering of Rajeev Yuva Mitaan Club participants. Party sources said that apart from the convention of the youth, Rahul Gandhi would also deliberate on the poll strategy to win over Chhattisgarh at a time when central agencies have been cracking down on corruption cases in the state.
A big strategy meet is also planned for Sunday which would be headed by Kumari Selja, the Congress incharge of Chhattisgarh, apart from CM Bhupesh Baghel, DCM TS Singhdeo, Tamradhwaj Sahu, Charan Das Mahant and Chandan Yadav.
