A girl returning home from her tuition was intercepted with an intent to rape her but the accused failed and thus began attacking with knife viciously. The case is of PGI police station limits of Lucknow where the girl was riding her scooty to Revtapur village.
But, police said, one Pankaj intercepted her and and tried to make her fall from the scooty. He then tried to rape her but the girl resisted enough that he found it impossible.
It was then that the accused attacked the girl with knife viciously. But the girl by then had begun shouting which brought people to the spot and she could be saved.
The accused then fled the spot and the girl was rushed to the Command hospital. It is learnt that the accused was in one sided love with the girl and thus made this illegal attempt.
