Man pronounces triple talaq to wife, in a school, while she was taking class

In a bizarre incident, a man actually pronounced ‘triple talaq’ to his wife, a teacher, while she was taking a class in a private school of Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh.

The man identified as Mohammad Shakeel has been booked for the act. Police sources claim that the man had recently returned from Saudi Arabia and barged into the school to pronounce the triple talaq to wife.

While the couple got married in September of 2020, the woman, as per police, alleged that the husband went to Saudi Arabia without informing her and that she was pressured for dowry in all this time by in laws.

The woman, as per police, said that she has had to live with her maternal relative and work at a private school to earn her livelihood. Kotwali City SHO meanwhile confirmed that FIR has been registered and that a probe has been launched. Practice of triple talaq has been made illegal and unconstitutional in year 2019 itself.
