A case of gangrape with two young women has been reported from Raipur. The two women were returning from Mahasamund where they had been to tie Raakhi to their brothers.
Police sources claimed that the two women were on their way back to Raipur with fiancee of one of them. It is learnt that close to eight to ten youngsters intercepted them and forced them to halt.
While the young man accompanying the women was thrashed black and blue, the two females were then gangraped.
The case of gangrape with two women around Rakhi time when the movement of girls and females is frequent shows that police could not anticipate and thus arrange for their security. Meanwhile, the Mandir Hasaud police has registered an FIR into the case and have thus far apprehended ten accused in all.
Police have identified son of a political leader as main accused. While the local police has named eight of the accused, two are said to be absconding. The accused, police says, are all from Piparhatta, Bora, Umaria and Tekari villages.
