Vishwa Hindu Parishad National level General Secretary Milind Parande referred to an ‘ill-intentioned’ press statement from Hmar Students Association of Manipur.
Referring to a May 22 press released by this student union where Tipalmukh has been described as 100 percent Christian, VHP asked what happened to Hindus when the 2011 census puts the Christian population in the area at 94 percent plus.
VHP added that eight districts of Manipur have witnessed 1693 incidents of arson and attacks on Meitei/Hindu house and religious structures. VHP cited the instance of Koubru Leikha Siva Mandir in Sardar hill district which was attacked and destroyed by Kuki militants.
VHP cautioned against false, mischievous and biased narratives in Manipur and expressed apprehension about the use of drug mafia, drug and weapons against the Meitei community. Infiltration of Chin Kukis from Myanmar is also of grave concern, the saffron outfit added.
