A woman looking for her husband landed up becoming hostage to a police officer, who raped for days.
It is also alleged that the police officer, who was also station house officer, let the woman go only after extorting Rs 2 lakhs from her.
As per the complaint received from her, Bihar’s Kishanganj police officials informed that the woman hailed from Ambedkar Nagar of Uttar Pradesh and was looking for the parental home of her husband and thus landed up at the Tedhagach police station.
The SHO Niraj Nirala, assured of help to the woman and kept her waiting while he summoned a prominent villager Manoj Kumar to make it seem like the two would help the woman locate the address that she wants to visit.
But the two took her elsewhere and took her hostage. As per the complaint, the SHO kept raping the woman multiple times for over a week and then allowed her to leave taking her Rs 2 lakhs.
The woman then approached the Kishananj SP after which inquiries were held and the case was registered on May 23.
